Hello Mountain Shadows Coyotes!
Welcome to our website!

Hello everyone,

We have a few activities going on the beginning half of this week and we hope you are able to participate.

As some of you may already know, AZ Merit testing got started a week earlier than what was scheduled, this is statewide, not just our school. The school is still holding a Road to Success Monday morning at 8:40 AM. Bring signs, noise makers, your cheers and claps as we encourage our students to do their very best. They are all ready for this! Please make sure your student has a good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, and arrives to school on time.

Tuesday, April 10th we invite you to the parking lot of Northwest Church of Christ, NW corner of 51st Ave & Union Hills, from 3:45 PM to 5:00 PM for our Paint the Town Red event. We will be painting car windows with #RedForED and making signs for the Walk-In the next day. We have a limited amount of window markers (everyone is buying them up for this purpose) so if you have any extra, please bring them. There will be a sign making station set up also, but please bring some supplies to use. A drive thru will also be set up for (hopefully) quicker service. We have invited our neighboring schools and our community to join in at this event. If you haven't already, please like our Facebook page. You will receive great information of what is going on at the school. This event is also posted there. The link to the page is here

On Wednesday, April 11th, is the statewide Walk-In. We ask that you join our teachers, staff, and students at 8:00 AM on the sidewalk along Oraibi. Last week was a trial run, but this one is the real deal! Over 1000 schools in AZ will be participating. Please bring your signs and wear red. Please encourage your students to wear red also. Our goal is to line the street of Oraibi from sidewalk to sidewalk with as many educators, parents, students, and community members as we can. Can't make it by 8:00? Join us before 8:30. Still aren't available? Email your teacher and let them know that you support #RedForEd and them! At 8:30 the teachers and staff will walk in to school to start their day, we can walk with them. We need YOU to help show our educators that we support them and the funding of education.

Wednesday evening, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, we will be having our first Whataburger fundraiser night, Oh Whatanight. Come and enjoy face painting, a balloon artist, photo booth, a chance to win Whataburger for a year, and of course the FOOD! No need to mention MS or bring a flyer as 20% of ALL sales will go back to our school, drive thru included. Location is at 43rd Ave & Bell Rd. This is a great excuse not to cook!

Our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner is coming soon. Invites will be sent out this week, so check your inbox. It will be at the school on Thursday, April 19th at 6:00 PM. RSVP is REQUIRED if you are coming so we have a head count for catering.

Our next PTSA General Meeting will also be on Thursday, April 19th, at 7:00 PM. We will talk about upcoming events and most important, our General Elections! All are welcome to attend, but you must have become a member by March 1st in order to vote in the elections. Flyers with all info will be coming home on Monday. We hope to see you there!

Yearbook has been completed and sent off to be published! If you haven't ordered yet, please do so soon. Prices go up May 1st to $30. If you are unsure if you have already purchased one, send us an email and I can look that up for you. Order forms are going home tomorrow.

Nurse Linda has a need for clothing in the health office. She is in need for clothing for Pre-K, Kinder, and 1st graders. If you have donations she would really appreciate it!
